Gem PK5 Oriental Keyboard
This keyboard is discontinued but they usually have one on E-Bay User Reviews Review by Ingraved Overall in general..Its Great.. Sound in general it's great. wonderfull in some points while playing solo.. and some other bad points are: * the sound is very huge, and strong. so it fills the bass lines while playing with a band * There some sounds not perfected like Piano voice : great when playing solo.. but it very Huge and contains a thick bass.. so it not great to use a law notes while playing with a band Harpsi: very weak and poor. connot be used. Syn-pads weak It needs more Syn-Leads Options.. Look good Feel there is a great effects.. sutain and reverbs with some slow sting ensemble effect. it makes a great cinematic orchestral feelings.. it contains a strong huge voices which fill the bass. so playing with effects makes u feel like playing a full orchesta ensemble :) very atmospheric, its wonderful. Reliability better in solo playing cuz it contains a strong huge voices which fill the bass , and oriental bands Value great Other Comments there is some problems with the keys..some keys stops working, and it's not comfortable for the users who playing on it at the first times.. so it makes some timing problems while playing. Review by Christopher Overall Poor quality instrument, poor build an weak sounds. This guy left it because he couldn't afford to pay for a session. After a few days I knew this guy was a real creep in more ways than just not paying. This is a truly unattractive brittle crappy built heap of forgotten money making opportunism by GEM. Sound Very low quality, like cheap keyboards from the late 90's. This was almost new and felt and sounded like a B-stock stocking filler. Turn off the reverba dn chorus and you would never play this. As they say, you can't polish a turd. Look Looks great, very easy to operate for all the different functions it has. In built speakers made it very useful for a quick chord or song check. Feel A truly crap feeling keyboard, hurts your hands and doesn't always activate accurately. My wrists are happy when I never play it. Reliability Mine is not working, screen has stopped so I can't use it because I have no idea which button is doing what. The price of screen replacement is more than buying a 2nd hand one. Now, think about it, does anyone want to really buy this again? No... So it is on the rubbish heap outside my house for annual cleanup. If you live in Sydney, contact me, you can have it for free. Value This is not a professional keyboard, that's all. It is trash. I paid less for a 2nd hand Kurzweil module and it is professional sounding and used in studios. Why GEM made this I do not understand. One piano sound would be great, but it's just crap, no good sounds. Haven't GEM learned that the whole keyboard is based on the piano sound. That is the most important sound. Keyboardists do not start with orchestras when they are young, just a piano. Other Comments Why was this thing made so badly? Because there is a gap in the market and that's all I can say. There is no love at all in the design and construction. Do not pay more than $100 for this, no matter where you live on the planet. |
