Overall
My opinion below is based on 15 years of playing, and a lifetime of being in a highly skilled musical family.
Model = JS1000
Fit and finish -Excellent.
Playability - Excellent.
Sound - had alot of trouble getting the pickups hot. Did my own setup, and it was as good as it got...Tried different amps, and different action-heights, no joy. Looked online this year, seen they were selling really high so I sold it with the intention of getting a JS1200 (the new model) if I can find that the sound is hotter in the pickups this time around. I will have found my dream guitar.
As for my overall opinion, I give this a 9 out of 10.
Sound
Really fought hard to get a consistant hot sound. Felt like I was fighting it for more.
Look
Beautifully crafted, excellent finish.
Feel
Feels like its physically part of you. Smooth, light, and VERY well balanced.
Reliability
ALWAYS in tune. Played the hell out of it, and it consistently stayed true. The instrument is built extremely well.
Value
The sound was always a fight to get more from the pickups. I tried everything I could from modeling the tremelo, to changin action, to pedals, amps, and style of picking. I didnt like the control knob placement in regards to the tremelo swing.
Other Comments
I am so hoping the JS1200 pickups do me better, as this was truly an awesome guitar otherwise.
