Review by S

Overall

Very good bass overall. Looks great, neck is consistent, good physical balance.

Sound

Very versatile. Took me a little while to figure out how to tweak sounds from the active electronics. Capable of a wide range of sounds. I'm not a slapper but I know slappers like this bass because of the mid-boost and adjustable mid-scoop.

Look

Very sharp. I've got the wine red two-tone sunburst with gold hardware.

Feel

Solid. Nice heavy bridge. Even neck. Good balance. Medium-heavy in weight.

Reliability

So far, so good.

Value

Great instrument for the price.

Other Comments

You could definitely use this as your one and onlyt bass.

Review by Rocket Ricky Rhodes

Overall

I couldn't have received a better gift from one of my closest friends who really did his homework in obtaining this incredible instrument for me. It's actaully more comfortable (and fun!) to play than my more expensive Fender Jazz basses are and it actually out works the Fender sound right into the ground. I found the active pickups far more responsive than almost anyhting I've ever played. I'd compare the tones to an Alembic bass, it's that great a sounding bass.

Sound

I've recorded and gigged with this BB604 since the day I received it as a gift and it's moy number one bass, out of the 12 that I own. This is the least expensive of all my basses, $575 and yet it sounds better than all of them. I'm looking for a second one, they are now discontinued and everyone who plays mine for more than a few minutes suddenly gets interested in owning one.

Look

It's a fine looking instrument, band I have seen nicer looking in my own collection. But looks mean nothing when you are playing live and in the studio. I'll never sell this one, I've even given 'her' a name, something I've never done before with an instrument, kind of like B.B. King's 'Lucille' or Keith Richards Telecaster called 'Matilda'. I'd be really sad if anything happene to this bass!

Feel

Nothing feels as real as this instrument whether I've plugged it in or sitting around strumming unplugged. The active pickups on this bass are real monstter tone blasters that can also be very subtle.

Reliability

I'm 100% satisifed in this bass' reliability.

Value

I'm not ever going to likely get the value or pleasure out of another instrument again. The friend who bought it for my birthday is truly a great guy and really went to a lot of trouble to pick out what has rapidly become my faovrite bass ever <}:D

Other Comments

Never happier with a rhythm instrument and wish I'd been able to learn on something that is as sweet sounding. I'm still learning about the excellent ways to get sounds from this sweetheart!
