Review by Alan

Overall

I kinda believe other reviewers ere playingitlikeBass-Well,whadda scoop! Its a very harmonic little Bass. plays kinda like an acoustic electric. You don't play it with Zep.,Stones or,Police.YesTo:ManhattanTransfer,Dion,PeggyL-or,HarvestMoon. Try the Harvest Moon CD,you'll see what I mean. Coerced Son into practicing alittle FingerPickin'with me. And for the Record: Its'a Bass;like the shoes,Ale,Fish. You never heard of anyone in Baseballsay,-Someone stole second Bass, It's a BASE. The Guitar is a Bass (fish). Sorry,pet-peeve.

Sound

As above,Harmonic. Like ringin' a bell. It will punch down below, but its' strength is inthe Silver. I play it like an AcousticBase. (And,like same, can be unforgiving and will announce mistakes. No where to hide--I've tried. Well, take a new approach. Play it like a Horn, one note at a time.

Look

Very Cool. Black Carbon body,Les Paul style. Neck is slim for smaller hands, also arthritic like mine and, Black everywhere. Frets are close and low to avoid strain and add alittle speed when necessary.

Feel

Lite (not "light", that's a bulb). Not balanced well for your knee and a chair--as I must sometimes. Takes getting used to. FlatStrings only. Standing-up, it's hardly There

Reliability

Hard to tune because you have to be so precise. will not lose tune during play. I broke-down and use a tuner for confirmation. Only unreliable is the Jack Port. Will replace 1-3 months. Accepting for many Amps. It'll be there.

Value

I'm not sure why the low price. I've had it over a year yet, for an inexpensive Base, it has never given me a moments grief, not high maintainance. The usual. I thought Jack sold-out. But, I ate the Crow. Coulda sold for 2X and still be reasonable.

Other Comments

Apologies to JC, I thought he sold-out. Epiphone? But, JC was right. I ate the Crow. I was spitting out feathers all day.

Overall

Just beautiful. Plays like an Acoustic Bass. Clarity like French Horn, Clarinet, xylophone (spelling)? Put on Moondance or Harvest Moon and you'll know what I mean. Brings a tear to me eye.

Sound

See above. Has good low-down power, but won't give what The Stones,Police,or Zep would need. Precise tuning and clarity makes mistakes jumpout atcha. Its worth it

Look

Carbon Black neck and body. Very nice. Les Paul Body appoears well balanced and educated.

Feel

I only gave 4stars because, despite appearances it is not well balance. Little more on the strap because carried too high its harder to adjust to weight shift--drop a notch or two. Light, small but, strings have good spacing allowing for better and more work and getting around the Board.

Reliability

Looses tune more easily than some, knobs could be more precise but, the clarity, cello/viola makes it all worth it

Value

You should have a 6star rating here. I can't imagine why they're selling so cheap. Guess is Epirhone is trying to upgrade respect for their product. Got me.

Other Comments

Saw Casidy in Rolling Stone (who are, once again, becoming the MTV of the written word), full page ad for this guitar. I thought, "Whats the matter Jack, need the money"? I was wrong, he was right-=-as usual. This is a public apology.
